Qualifications and Experience
Experience
I have worked as a gardener since 2017, starting my own business working with a wide range of different clients to carry out all kinds of garden maintenance, planting, pruning and more.
I worked as a community teacher of horticulture for 4 years at Lancashire Adult Learning, where I delivered accredited qualifications up to a City & Guilds Level 1 Diploma in Practical Horticulture Skills. I also taught courses on the environment, sustainability and ecology.
I worked as a volunteer coordinator at an organic farm and community allotment: managing volunteer teams; arranging events, workshops and sales; and carrying out day-to-day maintenance around the site.
I delivered a project for a mental health charity in Rochdale, transforming the gardens around a residential home into allotments, wildlife areas and formal gardens, working with the residents on the site as well as running workshops on gardening skills with them and other service users. I successfully applied for National Lottery funding for this project.
